Durham Receives National Recognition for National Night Out

For the second consecutive year, the City of Durham earned four national rankings in the awards competition sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. Durham was ranked 14 among 135 competing cities of comparable populations across the country. Three neighborhoods received All Stars honors, which recognize individuals, organizations or programs for outstanding participation, leadership and/or assistance.

Durham Ranks Among Nation's NNO Best

Durham ranked 14th out of 135 cities for its citizen involvement and participation in National Night Out, a national crime prevention celebration.  Three of its neighborhoods garnered NNO-All Star community titles including Azalea Park Apartments, Audubon Park HOA and University Estates.

Durham Maintains #9 Ranking in NNO Competition

In the 27th Annual National Night Out (NNO) crime, drug and violence prevention awards competition, the City of Durham maintained its  No. 9 ranking among similar-sized cities nationwide.  Also, for the third consecutive year, NNO All-Star honors were achieved by Durham’s Azalea Park Apartments community and Audubon Park Homeowners Association.
