King's Sandwich Shop at 701 Foster St., is expanding hours and menu to add breakfast. Starting April 12, King's will be open from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The breakfast menu will include biscuits, country ham, sausage, bacon, grits and fatback.
King's owner T.J. McDermott has brought 81-year-old Hazel Ladd on board to offer her restaurant expertise as a former King's employee to launch the breakfast side of the operation. McDermott reopened King's Sandwich last year after the hot dog and hamburger joint, built in 1942, closed in 2007.
