Southern Living Names Durham one of "Tastiest Towns in the South" in 2013

Durham has been selected as one of the top 10 “Tastiest Towns in the South” in 2013 by Southern Living magazine.  Southern Living will profile each town and reveal the winner in the May issue, on newsstands April 19th.

DPAC Ranked 5th Among Most Attended Theaters in US

DPAC, Durham Performing Arts Center, has been recognized as one of the top attended theaters in the U.S., according to Pollstar magazine’s 2012 report. The report tracks the top 100 theater venues in the U.S. based on worldwide ticket sales – with DPAC ranking fifth, right behind other theater elites such as Radio City Music Hall in New York and the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles.

Durham Receives National Recognition for National Night Out


For the second consecutive year, the City of Durham earned four national rankings in the awards competition sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch. Durham was ranked 14 among 135 competing cities of comparable populations across the country. Three neighborhoods received All Stars honors, which recognize individuals, organizations or programs for outstanding participation, leadership and/or assistance.

Durham's WorkSmart, a managed IT company, was recognized as #87 on the MSPmentor 200 industry index, which tracks the top 200 managed services providers (MSPs) in North America.

Durham Hospitals Earn Top 5 Ranking in Triangle

Duke Hospital and Durham Regional Hospital earned a #3 and #4 spot on Health Grades Inc.'s annual ranking of Triangle hospitals. Health Grades measures quality of care for 28 common conditions and procedures, 18 of which are based on an assessment of mortality rates and 10 are based on complication rates.
