Durham recognized as the No.31 best city to stay in U.S.

Trivago has released their "2016 Best Ranked Cities to Stay" top 50 list, and Durham was recognized as No. 31 and is one of only two N.C cities to make the list.

Durham County recognized as a top rental market for Millennials

Durham County was recognized as one of the top five rental markets for Millennials in the nation in a recent report from RealtyTrac. The top markets average rents accounted for 27% or less of Millennials wages. 

Five of the Triangle's top ten hotels are located in Durham

Durham Tech's president WIlliam Ingram recognized with meritorious service award

William G. Ingram, president of Durham Technical Community College, recently received a meritorious service award from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) during its annual conference in Houston, Texas. The Meritorious Service Awards are presented to those in higher education who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to and understanding of accreditation processes, and who are recognized as models of competency, creativity, and accomplishment.

Business intelligence firm DataFox recognized Durham as one of  2015's Best Cities to Found a Startup Outside Silicon Valley and New York.  The presence of American Tobacco Campus, and Duke University contribute to a high growth rate for young startups and a high density of entrepreneurs.

Durham recognized as No.12 for quality of life

LawnStarter recently issued a Quality of Life Index for the states and cities in the US, and Durham is ranked No. 12.Durham ranked especially well for Economic Output and Gender Equality The index is based on six quality-of-life factors borrowed from The Economist -- GDP (economic output) per capita, average life expectancy, divorce rate, unemployment rate, geographic location / climate and male-female income equality.

Durham recognized as No. 8 best mid-size college city

Durham is the eighth-best mid-size college city and the second-best among cities of all sizes for economic opportunities, according to a new report by personal financial website WalletHub.
The rankings are based on 23 metrics relating to academic, social and economic opportunities for students.

Durham was featured on Business Insider's  top 13 hottest cities in 2016 list. To compile this list, job growth, population growth, affordability, livability, and the health and well-being of each city's residents were considered.
