Duke Celebrates Opening of Charlotte Brody Discover Garden

The Sarah P. Duke Gardens will celebrate the official opening of the Charlotte Brody Discovery Garden, Sept. 8-9. The new garden features a miniature organic farm including vegetable beds, a fruit orchard, a reconstructed tobacco barn, a chicken coop, a rain garden and outdoor classrooms.

Sarah P. Duke Gardens Awarded Preservation NC's Top Honor

Duke University will receive Preservation North Carolina's highest honor for the restoration of the historic Roney Fountain that now sits near the entrance to Sarah P. Duke Gardens. The Minnette C. Duffy Landscape Preservation Award recognizes preservation, restoration or maintenance of landscapes, gardens, streetscapes or grounds related to historic structures.
