Durham Distillery recognized by two spirits competitions

Durham Distillery gins were recognized by two spirits competitions: the Beverage Testing Institute and the Fifty Best Awards. Both CONNIPTION Navy Strength and American Dry gins were awarded gold medals from Fifty Best, and CONNIPTION Navy Strength gin received an almost perfect score of 96 out of 100 from the Beverage Testing Institute.

Durham Convention Centers' General Manager; Jen Noble, was recognized with Elite Award

Jen Noble, General Manager of the Durham Convention Center, received the Elite Award from Facilities and Destinations Magazine. Noble is one of the 12 distinguished convention center executives from around the country that were recognized with this award.The award was created by Facilities and Destinations Magazine to recognize top professionals making a difference in the meetings and events industry. The award was given to 12 convention center executives from around the country, and was a featured section in the March issue of Facilities and Destinations Magazine.

Several Durham neighborhoods rank high on Rent Lingo's "Charm Index"

Apartment review and listing site RentLingo recently finished a "Charm Index" report on neighborhoods across the country. In Durham, the areas around Liberty and Mangum streets received 85 out of 100 possible points, and the neighborhoods of Central Park, Trinity Heights, and Parkwood were also mentioned as top Durham neighborhoods with charm.

Durham recognized as No.5 best place for STEM graduates

NerdWallet recognized Durham as the No.5 best place for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) graduates 2016. Rankings were based on salaries, concentration of STEM jobs and the unemployment rate, as well as U.S. Census Bureau data on the cost of median monthly rent in each location.

DCVB recognized with two communicator awards

DCVB won two Awards of Distinction from The Communicator Awards: Multisensory Visitor Info Center (Won for Interactive Multimedia: Direct Marketing and the Annual Report (Won for Annual Report: Government). The Communicator Awards is the leading international awards program recognizing big ideas in marketing and communications.Over 6,000 entries are received annually from companies and agencies of all sizes, making it one of the largest awards of its kind in the world.

DCVB receives when work works award

When Work Works National Partners, Families and Work Institute (FWI) and The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) recognized The Durham Convention & Visitors Bureau as a winner of the 2016 When Work Works Award. As a winner, DCVB ranks in the top 20% of employers nationally in terms of its programs, policies and culture for creating an effective and flexible workplace.
